Arizona Law:
Being the Husband and Father of Mexican Americans I decided to read the law in its entirety.
It states that a law officer must have probable cause to stop someone, (this is the same as the South Dakota Seatbelt law: A law officer must have probable cause to pull someone over, just because they are not wearing a seat belt is not a probable cause if pulled over for speeding, you may also receive a ticket for no seatbelt). In AZ just because you are Hispanic does not mean you will be pulled over, if you have a broken tail light you will be pulled over and asked for your Driver’s License, just like a person of any other nationality.
The law also states that anyone stopped must show proper Identification, a Drivers License, Military ID, MVD identification card, or a Native American Card. Federal law is very clear if you are here on a visa you must have your papers on you at all times. That is the law. If you cannot provide the proper papers you will be detained, and given a chance to provide them. If you do not provide them you will be deported, if you do provide them you may be fined for not having them with you. I know people here from Mexico on Visas, they spend a great deal of time in Border towns in Texas and New Mexico, they would never leave home without their Visas or Green Cards, even though they have U.S. Drivers licenses.
I guess people should educate themselves before they start attacking a State for being reactive to a National problem. This is just a clarification and a crack down on how the Federal Law is enforced. Truth is, it’s no different than someone driving on a suspended license, if you don’t break the traffic laws you will more than likely will not get caught.
The opinions out there are that if you are Hispanic, look Hispanic or speak Spanish you will get pulled over, harassed and detained by the cops. If this is true the cops are acting illegally not you, there are bigots everywhere and I’m sad to say there are many in the police services, however the new Bill does not give the Police that right, it just tells them to do their jobs and make sure that the people pulled over for breaking traffic laws are here legally. It also has nothing to do with being Hispanic; anyone pulled over must provide the proper ID. This law might actually stop the next guy that tries to put a Bomb in Time Square.
Don’t take my word for it, read the law Arizona Law SB 1070 it’s all over the Internet read the actual law not the opinions of a bunch of Liberal bloggers. I agree some of the wording is confusing, but I’m not scared to take my Family to AZ because of it, and neither should anyone else.

So here we are 2009, time for the annual Antelope Hunt, decided to try and do some filming since my wife got a Sony Handycam for her birthday last May. I got an old tripod out of the closet and on October 3rd, 2009 I was going to become just like Jim Shockey, with my friends as the hunters and me as the Guide/Producer/Cameraman. Let me just say this, easier in theory than in reality. We had a great hunt, got a doe 3 nice bucks, all 3 were herd bucks of some kind and had some age to them, none were over 16″, but they were all trophies in our minds.
<
The top buck was the first one we got down, he had a nice black face, great horns that came forward instead of straight up. The ivory tips were nice too, Courtney made a great shot and dropped him in one.
The 2nd buck was taken on Sunday Morning, we got 2 bucks out of this large group of antelope we had watched and filmed them the day before but they were just over the fence out of our hunting ground, I was sure they would be back in the morning so we came and it was productive. Check out the broken tips on him.

I've been watching this buck for almost a month, he looked old, walked with a limp, and definately had one horn that looked shorter than the other. He won't score high on the B&C, but he also wouldn't have made it through the winter, so I'm happy I took him, check out the ivory, and the one horn that is really curled back, giving you the illusion that it is shorter. Made a stalk on him on Sunday morning got to within 200yds and took the front shoulder out in one shot, gave him one more to make sure he was down, seconds later Chief let the hammer down on his, we approached from different angles so we would have the escape covered and it worked perfectly.
Ok back to the filming; we failed to get a kill shot on film, we tried and tried but we had such a hard time getting close that getting them shot was about all we could accomplish, however we made our first “SoDakAdventure.com” Production, and as we get better, we will buy better equipment and shoot better video. Don’t be a critic, just enjoy!!

The other day I posted this on my facebook page and only got 1 comment:
Murdock Halligan You know so many people spend thier lives worried about what outsiders think about them and how much money they have. The world would be a better place if everyone went through life working on what they want their headstone to say.

My thoughts at the time were “nobody cares”, however on Sunday in church the thought came back to me again. We started out in class talking about anger, and losing your temper. Thoughts on how we treat others and how we control our temper. When it comes right down to it, we get really angry at things we cannot control, things in our lives that go wrong for no reason. It’s easy to blame your wife, blame your kids, or even blame god, but is it truly anyone’s fault?? By controling our temper we make the world a better place. I know countless people who worry so much about how clean their house is (in case anyone stops by) that their kids don’t even know how to be kids, they are so worried about getting mud on the carpet, or dripping ice cream on the new tile, that they can’t even enjoy the rain or the Klondike for what they are, enjoyable. I know people who are so worried about making more money that they end up in the hospital with heart problems at a late age, do they even realize they never took their kids on a real family vacation. I know people my age who were really good at sports and rodeo, who’s fathers never saw them compete, because they couldn’t leave the ranch.
Have you ever walked through a cemetary and read the headstones? Do they say “Here Lays a Wealthy Man” or “He never left his cows unattended”. No they say “Loving Mother & Grandmother” and “Devoted Father”. Many more of these headstones say simply Name & Date. Who were these Name & Date people?? Were they Devoted Fathers or Loving Mothers??
As you make decisions going forward, remember it’s OK to make money, it’s also OK to be devoted to your job, but remember someday, someone will have to decide what to put on your headstone, what do you want it to say??
